With multiple large-scale operations around the world, and production efficiency directly connected to the teams on the ground, Anglo American needed an innovative and effective manner in which to help people stay safe in hazardous working environments.
We created an interactive 360 video virtual reality experience called “Learning From Incidents” that simulates the operations of the Barro Alto Refinery and helps employees spot hazards and address them before they become dangerous.
This will be used to provide decision-making scenarios in a safe, controlled environment, in which personnel learn from mistakes and systematically change their decisions and behaviour in successive attempts prior to engaging with actual work onsite.
I was responsible for the creative and art direction as well as the user experience design. I created comprehensive design documents, rough sketches and storyboards and managed a team of writers, designers, 3D modellers, animators and developers.
